The position:
AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Analyst (JSE M&S Test and Accreditation)-Senior to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $92,000.00 to $140,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for hybrid work.

Position Background:
The Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) is a scalable, expandable, high fidelity government-owned, non-proprietary modeling and simulation environment used to conduct testing on fifth-plus generation aircraft and systems accreditable for test as a supplement to open-air testing and Pilot training. Be part of the team expanding JSE from IOT&E into a functioning test and training environment. In this role you will provide analytical, technical and administrative support to the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE)
Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead within the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO) with an emphasis on M&S verification test and evaluation and system accreditation to support Developmental Test & Evaluation (T&E), Operational T&E, and Training requirements.

A typical day as a talented Project Analyst (JSE M&S Test and Accreditation)-Senior may include:

  • Provides technical and analytical support during the planning, documentation and execution of all F-35 JSE development and integration activities
  • Leads activities for system test, evaluation, verification and validation to support accreditation requirements
  • Provides technical/analytical support for T&E and Verification as well as Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) requirements identification and management
  • Coordinates, conducts and participates in technical/planning meetings to facilitate collaboration across JSE enterprise and operational user groups to identify and define T&E and VV&A approaches
  • Collaborates M&S accreditation authorities to identify and document requirement/establish approaches
  • Provides reach-back to Subject Matter Experts from the M&S and T&E competency based on JSE team needs and gaps in knowledge or expertise
  • Assists in coordinating JSE team activities which include Subject Matter Experts (SME) responsible for JSE development, weapon model development, threat model development, red and blue air model development, M&S environment development to establish T&E requirements and Verification and Validation (V&V) methods in support of accreditation
  • Provides technical and analytical support to the JSE IPT program management team during the planning, documentation and execution of T&E and VV&A activities
  • Collaborates across the JSE Enterprise, operational user groups and accreditation authorities to identify and develop methods, processes and procedures to meet JSE T&E and VV&A requirements
  • Supports the JSE IPT program management team with development of program roadmaps and schedules
  • Works closely with development and integration engineers across the JSE Enterprise to ensure successful integration of the F-35 IAB with the JSE
  • Maintains insight into contractor's plans, schedules and methods of execution for M&S activities for F-35 ownship, air, threat and environmental model accreditation and V&V approaches
  • Coordinates with the IPT functional lead for contracts to develop program plan for contract actions necessary to initiate/sustain technical work; including developing statements of work,eviewing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and provides technical input to assist the JSE Lead in negotiating cost of contractor support
  • Coordinates with Lead Engineer/System Engineers in support of Government Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) of JSE development and readiness for test and operations
  • Identifies and manages technical issues, risks and opportunities
  • Provides guidance and input to JSE IPT program management team
  • Provides technical input to develop roadmaps/program schedules and the alignment of technical activities within and outside the JSE Enterprise that enables activities
  • Assists the IPT Lead and Lead SE to develop contracting strategies and finance plans in support of technical activities
  • Assists in organizing and actively participates in working groups, panels, teams, etc.

Must-haves:
  • BS Degree in engineering, Systems Analysis, Computer Science or an applicable technical field
  • 4 years of experience in engineering and program management of M&S programs
  • Experience in modeling and simulation
  • Experience in M&S, V&V or M&S Test and Evaluation activities
  • DAWIA certification for Test and Evaluation Level I
  • Technical Project Management Experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to conduct and evaluate feasibility studies and risk assessments
  • Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) to draft clear, concise reports (often dealing with highly complex technical issues) and maintain effective working relationships/provide technical guidance and briefings
  • Ability to independently plan and complete assignments; alerting the supervisor when problems arise that would delay projects or mission accomplishments
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:
  • MS Degree in Engineering, Systems Analysis or Computer Sciences
  • Knowledge of the F-35 and F-35 systems
  • DAWIA certification for Test and Evaluation Level II
  • Prior experience with the M&S accreditation processes
  • Prior experience with Major Acquisition Programs
  • Prior experience of Mission Systems M&S

Physical environment and working conditions:

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. Overnight travel may be required.
