The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Apprentice to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $18.00-$25.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for remote work- as needed.

A typical day as an Apprentice may include:

• Supports RF Engineering
• Provides customer services to NAS Patuxent River across multiple engineering disciplines
• Supports Advanced Aircraft Research, Development Test and Evaluation for the DoD
• Participates in daily task’s that provide invaluable experience working with operational systems, including testing and verifying the characteristics of open and closed-loop RF testing
• Utilizes various electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and specialized test sets

Must-haves:

• Current High School student (graduating spring of 2024) or college student with a minimum of 3.0 GPA-Focused on the STEM curriculum with a track in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Engineering degrees with RF electives
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Solid working knowledge of MS Office products

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and picking up items less than 50 lbs.
