The position:
AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Systems Engineer (JSE)-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $90,000.00 to $120,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Systems Engineer (JSE)-Journeyman may include:

  • Provides analytical, technical and administrative support to the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead within the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO); With an emphasis on engineering development and execution of JSE the system to support DT&E, OT&E and training requirements
  • Provides reach-back to Subject Matter Experts from the M&S competency based on JSE team needs and gaps in knowledge or expertise
  • Assists in coordinating JSE team activities which include; Subject Matter Experts (SME) responsible for JSE development, weapon model development, threat model development, red and blue air model development, M&S environment development, multi-spectral imagery data acquisition, scenario development and independent analysis of simulation model capability
  • Provides technical and analytical support to the JSE IPT program management team during the planning, documentation and execution of all F-35 Ownship, sensor, weapons, threat, air and environment model development/integration activities
  • Coordinates with Government model managers, intelligence agencies and program offices to identify and obtain the latest models, simulations, tools and databases for use by the F-35 program
  • Coordinates technical development of models and aligns program schedules for development work to meet capability requirements in areas where models do not exist or upgrades are required
  • Coordinates periodic Government Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) of JSE development and readiness for test and operations
  • Assists in the planning and development of artifacts required for SETR entry and exit criteria
  • Identifies and manages technical issues, risks and opportunities to provide guidance and input to JSE IPT program management team

Must-haves:
  • BS Degree
  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 4 years of experience in engineering and program management of M&S programs
  • Experience with Mission Systems M&S
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Prior knowledge of the F-35 and F-35 systems
  • Prior experience with a Major Acquisition Program

Physical environment and working conditions:
The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. Overnight travel may be required.
