The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented TEMPEST Electrical Engineer to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $68,000.00- $95,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a TEMPEST Electrical Engineer may include:

  • Plays a key role in designing, testing and implementing TEMPEST solutions
  • Possesses a deep understanding of TEMPEST standards and practices with a proven track record of ensuring the security of electronic systems against emanations
  • TEMPEST Design and Analysis: Designs, evaluates and analyzes electronic systems and components to ensure compliance with TEMPEST standards and specifications
  • Testing and Evaluation: Conducts TEMPEST testing, measurements and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Documentation: Prepares detailed TEMPEST documentation including test plans, reports and compliance documentation
  • Collaboration: Works closely with cross-functional teams including hardware/software engineers to integrate TEMPEST requirements into product designs
  • Research and Development: Stays current with emerging TEMPEST technologies and contributes to the development of solutions
  • Compliance and Certification: Assists in obtaining TEMPEST certifications for products and systems to ensure that they meet government and industry standards

 

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in TEMPEST engineering and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Strong knowledge of TEMPEST or applicable EMI standards
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret security clearance

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

 

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

 

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and picking up items less than 50 lbs. This position may also require driving government vehicles.
