The position:
AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Information Systems Security Officer-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $95,000.00 to $140,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for hybrid work.

A typical day as an Information Systems Security Officer-Journeyman may include:

  • Provides support to a program, organization, system or enclaves information assurance program
  • Supports proposing, coordinating, implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards and methodologies
  • Maintains operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards and procedures are established/followed
  • Assists with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system
  • Evaluates security solutions to ensure that they meet security requirements for processing classified information
  • Performs vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation
  • Provides configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware and firmware
  • Manages changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes; prepares and reviews documentation to include Systems Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification/Accreditation (C&A) packages and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs)

Must-haves:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • 3 years of experience as an Information Assurance (IA) Analyst, ISSE, ISSO or similar role in ATO package development
  • Experience generating security documentation for requirements
  • Experience with security control assessment, STIG and IAVA compliance, Standard Operating Procedures, test results, etc.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in cybersecurity, information technology or related technical degree
  • CISSP, CASP or similar certificate
  • Possesses the ability to take initiative
  • Possesses organizational skills, an aptitude for analytical thinking and takes initiative
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team

Physical environment and working conditions:
The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.
