The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineer-Senior to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $90,000.00 to $140,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as an Engineer-Senior may include:

• Develops and operates software written in C++, uses Qt for anechoic chamber testing facility and supports electronic warfare (EW) test activities with customers
• Controls/coordinates robotics and antenna positioning systems along with radio frequency (RF) instrumentation including; spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and other RF receivers
• Develops and uses data analysis scripts using Python or MATLAB to assist customers in getting the data that supports their test objectives
• Works with mechanical engineers and technicians to develop new EW test capabilities and troubleshoots existing EW test capabilities

Must-haves:

• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Degrees in Engineering, Math and Physics may qualify with at least 3 years of C++ experience
• 5 years of relevant work experience
• 5 years of experience with RF test equipment and instrumentation
• Experience developing software on Linux
• Experience with source control management such as git
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

• Experience supporting EW testing
• Experience using Qt

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and picking up items less than 50 lbs.  This position may also require driving government vehicles.
