The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineering Technician-Field Engineer (Threat Air Defense Lab)-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $70,000.00-$100,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as an Engineering Technician-Field Engineer (Threat Air Defense Lab)-Journeyman may include:

  • Contributes to the development of advanced electronic warfare solutions, focusing on radar theory and jammer stimulation
  • Works on cutting-edge projects that have a direct impact on national defense
  • Conducts research and analysis of radar systems to understand their operating principles and vulnerabilities
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate electronic warfare solutions into larger defense systems
  • Develops and tests algorithms for electronic countermeasure systems to optimize performance
  • Stays current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to electronic combat and radar systems

 

Must-haves:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong background in radar theory, signal processing and electronic warfare principles
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing jammer stimulation techniques
  • Ability to use RF equipment: Spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters and oscilloscopes
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and software used in electronic warfare testing
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong understanding of passive and active RF components (splitters, amplifiers, directional couplers, etc.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing
  • Exposure to programming languages such as C, C++ or Python
  • Ability to utilize lab equipment to measure and assess jammer effectiveness against RADAR

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

 

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.  Overnight travel may be required.

 

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs. This position may also require driving government vehicles.
