The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Lead Software Developer (Engineer)-Senior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $130,000.00-$185,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Lead Software Developer (Engineer)-Senior may include:
- Assists the Program Manager with hiring a team of software developers
- Designs a Windows application that will serve as the new DAPS software
- Utilizes an Agile implementation process
- Uses an Agile implementation process to employ fixed length Sprints (requirements, design, development, test and deployment) that result in a finished and tested product at the end of each Sprint
- Utilizes standard Agile methods such as SCRUM or DoD Agile
- Uses an Agile implementation process to develop, design, document and deliver a high-level design of an overall system architecture for a new Data Acquisition and Processing System (DAPS)
- Leads daily internal discussions, development work, Sprint review meetings and Sprint Retrospective
- Completes high-level design elements of a complete system at the end of each Sprint
- Conducts a preliminary design review and review of system requirements of high-level designs
- Creates System Architecture documentation
- Works with a team to develop all documentation for project
- Leads a team of software developers creating DAPS software
- Interfaces software that communicates/imports the legacy DAPS Microsoft Access Structured Query Language (SQL) relational database and interacts/interfaces with the existing EG&G ODS-1500 and ODS-2200 Optical Data Link transceivers used at NAWCAD EMP facility
- Interfaces for recording, playback, presentation and post execution analysis
- Incorporates new graphic user interface (GUI) to control software functions
- Communicates with Windows based systems that include oscilloscopes, network analyzers and computers
- Uses software such as: Visual Studio 2015, Git Repository, Swift, Source Tree, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) or other requested software
Must-haves:
- BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering: Degrees in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computers, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering may qualify with at least 10 years of software development experience
- 10 years of relevant work experience
- Experience leading a team of software developers in designing an architecture that interfaces with multiple hardware systems and creates new Graphic User Interfaces (GUis)
- Experience developing new system architectures
- Proficient in programming with multiple languages
- Knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns and object-oriented software design
- Experience with troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software code
- Experience using Agile development methodologies
- The ability to collaborate with team members to design enhancements
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
- MS Degree in Computer Science
- Agile certifications
- Scrum Master certification

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:
The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
