The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineering Technician-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $53,000.00 - $95,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:

The Special Missions Integrated Test Facility (ITF) is a specialized advanced aircraft research, development, test and evaluation (AARDT&E) laboratory under the Digital Analytics Infrastructure and Technology Advancement Group. The primary mission of the ITF is to conduct RDT&E activities for advanced electronic intelligence and signals intelligence airborne sensors, systems and their associated ground segments.

 

A typical day as an Engineering Technician-Journeyman may include:

  • Assists with the daily operations of the Minotaur System Integration lab (MSIL)
  • Updates/Tracks system changes, installs and fits system level modifications and document changes
  • Maintains a detailed spreadsheet that tracks the status of all purchases and provides a status update to the customer each week
  • Assist with regression testing of new Minotaur software and provides a detailed report with any bugs noted

 

Must-haves:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience supporting engineers in designing, building and testing solutions to a variety of technical problems
  • Experience inspecting/modifying existing designs and prototype applications
  • Experience conducting research, collecting data and writing daily reports
  • Experience using CAD software to develop designs and implement feedback from engineers
  • Experience with inspecting inventory and reordering materials/technical components
  • Experience analyzing operations and offering suggestions for improvement
  • Experience using and operating test equipment and its operation (Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope Scope, Wave Form Generator, etc.)
  • The ability to conduct test events (diagnostics, calibrations, etc.)
  • The ability to conduct experiments and troubleshoot under the guidance of engineers
  • The ability to maintain records and assist with presentations
  • Willingness to learn different coding languages and IT skillsets while pursuing a career in software development or technical services
  • The ability to obtain and maintain SAP and/or SCI access as required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working as an Electrical or Electronics Technician
  • Experience with computer software and hardware scans, troubleshooting and configuration
  • Willingness to learn different coding languages and IT skillsets

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in and support various labs at PAX River versus in an office. The physical environment may require the employee to work in an office at times, looking at a computer for part of the day.

 

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. Overnight travel will be required.

 

The employee is required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
