The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Liaison Officer (PLO) to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $40.87 - $57.69/hour and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Work Arrangement:

A typical day as a Project Liaison Officer (PLO) may include:

• Serves as a liaison between the customer, program leadership, and day-to-day operational teams to ensure project requirements are being met
• Coordinates with government and contractor personnel regarding project requirements, priorities, schedules, and operational needs
• Monitors the status of equipment, tools, parts, calibration requirements, and other program resources
• Reviews inventory and program records to identify discrepancies, shortages, overdue calibrations, or other issues before they affect operations
• Coordinates equipment movement between the work center, calibration/metrology laboratories, and other supporting organizations
• Ensures required documentation, logs, and reports are accurate and completed on schedule
• Supports compliance with applicable Navy, DoD, safety, environmental, and customer requirements
• Works with QA and operational personnel to address damaged, non-compliant, or otherwise unsuitable equipment
• Coordinates HAZMAT-related activities when applicable, including proper storage, handling, transportation, and disposal
• Communicates issues and status updates to program leadership and customer representatives
• Assists with resolving day-to-day operational issues and ensuring the appropriate personnel are connected to keep work moving
• Tracks action items and follow up with responsible parties to ensure commitments are completed

Must-haves:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 10 years of relevant work experience
• Hazard Communication Training
• HAZWOPER and OSHA training/certifications
• 10 years of experience supporting military, DoD, or defense aviation operations
• Experience working in an aviation maintenance, logistics, tool control, or related operational environment
• Experience coordinating and tracking equipment, tools, parts, or other controlled assets
• Experience with METCAL/Calibration programs, including maintaining calibration schedules and records
• Familiarity with Navy Tool Control Program requirements, ATAF procedures, and/or IMRL processes
• Experience maintaining accurate records, inventories, reports, and compliance documentation
• The ability to coordinate between operations personnel, maintenance teams, QA, laboratories, and government/customer representatives
• Strong understanding of safety, HAZMAT, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to an aviation/DoD environment
• The ability to identify discrepancies or operational issues and coordinate corrective action
• Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): DoD Secret Clearance
• Current clearance required upon onboarding: DoD Secret Clearance
• Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract

Desired Skills:

• Experience supporting Navy aviation programs or test and evaluation activities
• Experience with TCMAX or similar automated tool/inventory management systems
• Experience with BAMS/Global Hawk or other unmanned aircraft programs
• Experience managing or coordinating a METCAL program
• Experience with Navy 350/802 reporting formats
• Experience with HAZMAT storage, transportation, disposal, and documentation
• Experience coordinating equipment with Metrology/Calibration and Structures laboratories
• Familiarity with NSNs, IMRL equipment, precision measurement equipment, and calibration requirements
• Prior experience serving as a program manager, coordinator, lead, or primary point of contact
• Aircraft maintenance experience, particularly within Navy aviation

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in a lab/hangar for a majority of their day, on site versus in an office. The physical environment also requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for part of the day.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

The employee is required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs. Operation of machinery to assist in the movement of heavy objects, such as forklifts and dollies, may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
