The position:

AMEWAS, Inc.is seeking highly motivated and talented Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Air Combat Environment Test & Evaluation Facility (APSD).

This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Engineer.

A typical day as a Senior Electrical Engineer may include:

  • Applies learned technical knowledge to support electrical system and power design, aircraft power and thermal analysis, electrical reverse engineering.
  • Provides resources for planning and oversight of electrical fabrication and installation activities.
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate hardware and software, including military weapons systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • The engineer applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Shall analyze, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate automated data processing software related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapon systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.
  • The engineer may perform as a subject matter expert (SME) in Test and Evaluation (T&E), electrical or mechanical systems, or airborne platform.
  • The engineer shall perform as an engineering team leader in developing engineering procedures and controls, managing project efforts, and resolving problems.

Must-haves:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in performing the stated functions; In lieu of MS Degree, a Bachelor's degree in stated fields and a total of 15 years’ experience in performing the stated functions.
  • Aircraft experience highly desired
  • A Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (aerospace, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, electronics, industrial, materials, mechanical, nuclear, safety) from a school where the degree curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • DoD Secret security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to stand and walk throughout his/her workday, often bending over and picking up items less than 50 lbs. and/or operating machinery to assist in the movement of heavy objects such as fork lifts and dollies. 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
