The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Electrical Engineer to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation.

This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Engineer.

This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Junior SEA Lab Engineer may include:

  • Will play a lead role through the design, development, test, and implementation of M&S solutions. 
  • Will utilize previous experience to develop solutions that support analyses of the combat effectiveness and survivability of current and planned U.S. Navy air systems.
  • Work closely with systems and functional engineers to provide relevant M&S solutions that support warfighting capability assessments of combat systems and impacts on operational and engineering requirements. 
  • The candidate will provide customer offices with technical knowledge in the areas of: M&S development (including VV&A), M&S workspace architecture, data structures, data visualization and the integration of M&S within Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategies.
  • Architect relevant M&S solutions
  • Collaborate with Threat Working Groups to incorporate operationally relevant scenarios
  • Research relevant combat system capabilities, characteristics and operational use
  • Instantiate domain specific M&S solutions from a suite of approved software tools
  • Create reports and briefing products on M&S implementations
  • Deliver and support customer briefings on M&S implementations
  • Support customer engineering and management processes
  • Lead VV&A of M&S implementations
  • Participate in various Integrated Product Teams and Working Groups

Must-haves:

  • BS in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics or other technical field
  • UP to 2 years’ hands-on experience developing M&S solutions at the code implementation level
  • MATLAB® programming skills
  • Exposure or introduction to The Benchmark tool
  • DoD Secret security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. 

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and picking up items less than 50 lbs.
