AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking an Engineer to support the Naval Electromagnetic Radiation Facility (NERF). The Engineer will participate in facility Electromagnetic simulator development, operations, and maintenance. The Engineer will also provide test and evaluation environments for DoD legacy and developmental systems. The NERF is located at the Naval Air Station at Patuxent River, MD.
A typical day as the Electrical Engineer:
On a typical day, an ideal candidate as part of a team will apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test and evaluate airborne platforms, weapons and avionics outdoors as well as in controlled environments. In addition to test facility responsibilities, the ideal candidate may also provide facility integration/improvements, implement, test and evaluate software related to engineering or functional requirements of simulation systems and associated support systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of professional engineering experience, at least 3 years of the foregoing experience as a team lead performing engineering functions related to:
- Defining, designing, and integrating high power transmitter systems
- Operating and maintaining facilities high voltage or other complex systems, equipment and components
- Identifying high voltage system malfunctions and coordinating repair/maintenance
- Courses in power systems, RF/Microwave or EMI/EMC and familiarity with the NEC
- Hands on experience with test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment participating in multiple projects and commitments
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
