The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Electrical Engineer to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation.

This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Engineer.

A typical day as an Electrical Engineer may include:

  • Provide support to the NAVAIR, Electronic Combat Stimulation Branch in the research, preparation, production, validation and execution of electronic stimulation testing for multiple activities and programs.
  • Research, design, develop, operate and maintain Electronic Warfare and Electronic Combat simulation and stimulation equipment, systems, and sensors.
  • The individuals will work with Radar (threat and friendly) waveform generation, antennas, RF cables, and RF measurement equipment in a laboratory and test environment.
  • Research, develop, verify and validate simulations and software models of Radar/ EW and RF systems.
  • Operate simulation hardware and associated systems, portable stimulators, assorted lab hardware, projection systems, and network hardware. This includes, but is not limited to, real-time high fidelity radar target generators, infrared stimulators, EW stimulators, and CNI stimulators.
  • Integrate, maintain and update hardware and software systems using industry best practices with: stimulator systems, stimulator interfaces, data collection systems, data manipulation, analysis and presentation tools, interactive simulation interfaces, and test equipment.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Up to 3 years’ relevant work experience
  • DoD Secret security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
