The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and talented Network Administrator.  This position is contingent upon contract award, projected in March 2020.  

This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Systems Administrator.

Location:  Fallon, Air Force Base (near Reno, NV).  Learn more about Fallon here: https://www.fallonnevada.gov/.

 A typical day as a Network Administrator may include:

  • Implement OS and network devices security configurations in accordance to DISA
  • Configuring and hardening network devices
  • Maintain Host Based Security System (HBSS) installation on the devices.
  • Maintain hardware configurations for all hardware.
  • Assist with hardware moves between workspaces, buildings and labs.
  • Ensure hardware replacement and upgrades meet security and compliance requirements.
  • Provide Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) support for all devices.
  • Assist with periodic vulnerability scans to assess and maintain system integrity and compliance.
  • Provide existing Communication Tasking Order (CTO) compliance support for all devices.
  • Assist Information Assurance Team in the generation and maintenance of RMF accreditation documentation.

Must-haves:

  • 5-10+ years’ experience as a network engineer/architect and/or computer systems administrator
  • B.S., computer science or Information System Management from an ABET-accredited institution or an Information Assurance/Computer Science technology field in lieu of degree
  • DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (i.e. GSEC, Security+CE, SSCP & Vendor certification and IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system)DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance; SCI eligible

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, travel may be required.
