The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Subject Matter Expert (Electronic Warfare (SIGINT) Specialist)-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Subject Matter Expert (Electronic Warfare (SIGINT) Specialist)-Journeyman may include:

  • Supports organizations charged with exploiting EWIRDB information in order to develop weapon systems and electronic countermeasures to formulate tactics and operational deployment strategies
  • Develops algorithm-driven reactive radar models to run in a dynamic simulation environment
  • Works with the customer to develop requirements for model fidelity, function and simulation fit
  • Develops scenarios and the required waveforms for simulation based on customer requirements
  • Understands the relationship between software-based models and simulation hardware to support real-time simulation
  • Evaluates and tests previously developed EWIR models for NEWEG stimulator compatibility and performance
  • Works with the Intelligence Community (IC) to communicate program requirements and provide product feedback
  • Works with organizations to develop new capabilities in support of ground testing

 

Must-haves:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent/BS Degree
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • 3 years of experience in an operational SIGINT/ELINT role
  • The ability to learn software in support of developing RADAR waveforms or antenna modeling
  • The ability to analyze RF waveforms for accuracy against intelligence documentation
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

 

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with EWIRDB and other waveform intelligence sources
  • Completion of SIGE-2810 and/or SIGE-3810 or equivalent schooling
  • Basic knowledge or MATLAB or Python coding
  • Initiative in developing new capabilities in support of ground test

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

 

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.  

 

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
