The position:
AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Aircraft Wiring Technician to support Aircraft Prototype System Division.
This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Technician II.

A typical day as an Aircraft Wiring Technician may include:
- Applying technical knowledge and past work experience to perform repairs, fabrication, modification and installation of electrical wiring harnesses, cables, wires, wiring assemblies and associated parts
- Applying technical knowledge to demonstrate a practical application of aircraft wiring procedures
- Soldering and using knowledge of tools and equipment to perform required functions
- Receiving technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher level-technician
- Submitting work to be reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments
- Providing technical guidance to lower level technicians
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with Aircraft wiring fabrication and/or installation
- Proficient in coax, power, ethernet, data bus and type cable manufacturing
- Ability to use soldering equipment, multi-meters, crimpers, and wire fabrication tools to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to read and interpret wire diagrams, cable fab drawings and schematics
- Familiar with all safety precautions/hazards associated with aircraft wiring/power
- Knowledge of AS80881, NA-01-1A-505, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
- Ability to travel 15% of the time and to work 2nd Shift 1500-2400 for periods greater than two weeks
Must-haves:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years relevant work experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:
The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. Overnight travel may be required.
