The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Missions Systems Specialist-Journeyman. The salary range of this position is $95,300.00 - $139,900.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Missions Systems Specialist-Journeyman may include:

  • Supports distributed simulation integration and training operations
  • Collaborates with government personnel, engineers, operators and other simulation experts to configure and troubleshoot NGTS systems, develop/modify threat behavior files/training scenarios and support ongoing test and integration activities
  • Participates in technical planning meetings, executes verification and validation efforts, analyzes simulation performance, documents test results and resolves issues impacting training events
  • Supports JSE Technical Baseline (JTB) releases, provides recommendations to improve distributed training capabilities and ensures NGTS systems are operationally ready to support mission-focused exercises/customer demonstrations
  • Interacts regularly with cross-functional teams to support successful integration of NGTS within DMON, JSE and Live-Virtual-Constructive training environments

 

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analysis, System Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Physics or STEM related discipline
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • 3 years of direct NGTS experience
  • Demonstrated experience with scenario development, threat modeling and simulation operations
  • Experience supporting DoD training systems, operational test environments or distributed simulation architectures
  • Strong understanding of military air operations, threat systems and training objectives
  • Experience supporting integration, test and evaluation activities
  • The ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across software, network and simulation environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance-The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting Joint Simulation Environment (JSE)
  • Experience with Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) or DMON architectures
  • Knowledge of DIS (IEEE 1278) or HLA (IEEE 1516) protocols
  • Experience supporting 5th Generation aircraft training environments
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and scripting tools
  • Military operational experience as aircrew, intelligence, weapons, electronic warfare or threat systems personnel

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work with simulation equipment, on site versus in an office. The physical environment may require the employee to work in an office at times, looking at a computer for part of the day.

 

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
