The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Security Specialist (IBST)-Journeyman to support
Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:
The Digital Analytics, Infrastructure, and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group is at the cutting edge of Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (AARDT&E). Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped to work seamlessly together, enabling comprehensive testing and evaluation of aircraft and weapons systems across the Department of Defense. What sets the DAiTA Group apart is our exceptional ability to mitigate program risks by crafting intricate battlespace environments where cutting-edge concepts, advanced hardware, and skilled warfighters can dive into the missions of both today and the future. The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department is at the heart of this innovative ecosystem. This team is the driving force behind the research, development, management, design, documentation, fabrication, installation, integration, testing, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of the Air Combat Environment Test Facility (ACETEF) and other DAiTA AARDT&E capabilities, laboratories, and facilities. With IBST at the helm, we're not just preparing for the future but shaping it.
A typical day as a Security Specialist (IBST)-Journeyman may include:
- Learns to meet the requirements of DoD 5205.07 volumes 1-4 for one or more Special Access Programs (SAP) within the Combined Security Office (CSO)
- Initiates, processes, and tracks personnel security actions (Personnel Access Requests (PARs), nominations for employees to special programs, foreign travel/contact reports, briefings, debriefings, etc.)
- Interfaces with customer counterparts in a tactful, diplomatic, and professional manner
- Creates needed procedures for the secure and successful execution of assigned program(s)
- Administers and controls classified material following the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
- Plans and supervises the building and accreditation of secure facilities following Intelligence Community Directive 705
Must-haves:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with JADE
- Knowledge and experience with the U.S. Government security standards of 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117, NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives, Security Executive Agent Directives, and the DoD SAP Security Manual 5205.07 (Volumes 1- 4)
- Experience and understanding of the ICD-705 Technical Specifications (intrusion detection systems, access control devices, TEMPEST requirements, drawings/specifications, etc.)
- Knowledge of advanced security principles and government special security regulations
- Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): DoD Secret Clearance
- Current clearance required upon onboarding: DoD Secret Clearance
- Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract
Desired Skills:
- Experience working in an SAP environment

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:
The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in a chamber, on site versus in an office. The physical environment may require the employee to work in an office at times, looking at a computer for part of the day.
The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
