The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Developer (Guardian)-Junior. The salary range of this position is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Software Developer (Guardian)-Junior may include:

• Develops software for a fully documented DO-278 standard safety critical UAV Detect and Avoid system
• Supports software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
• Demonstrates a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns and object-oriented software design
• Evaluates and reviews C++ language code

Must-haves:

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering from an ABET accredited college
• 1 year of relevant work experience
• Experience with scripting, database and programming in C++
• Experience with GIT or equivalent configuration management tools
• Experience in MS Visual Studio or QT graphical user interface IDEs
• The ability to understand mathematical algorithms and convert them programmatically into readable and maintainable code
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• The ability to work individually and with teams
• The ability to effectively organize, prioritize, schedule and complete tasking across several efforts
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Python or Java programming languages
• Experience with the Linux operating system
• Experience in IT

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. Overnight travel will be required.
