The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Manager (Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence Test-AAIT)-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for hybrid work.

Position Background:
AAIT manages a portfolio of T&E-related investment projects, to develop technology and assist testers of autonomous/artificial-intelligence-based systems, across the entire Joint DoD Major Range Test Facility Base. AAIT identifies and prioritizes test technology gaps, seeks solutions for those gaps and transitions the newly created technology into the hands of testers.
A typical day as a Project Manager (Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence Test-AAIT)-Journeyman may include:
- Serves as a Technical Project Manager for the Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence Test (AAIT) Technology Area (TTA) under the Test & Evaluation/Science & Technology (T&E/S&T) program and the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC)
- Serves as one of several technical advisors to the AAIT Executing Agent and AAIT staff through all stages of work
- Manages multiple projects of varying subject areas
- Reviews technical concepts, papers and proposals
- Participates in research-level (prototype) software development efforts
- Determines suitability of material and advises AAIT
- Reviews software deliveries to evaluate deployability, technical performance and documentation
- Gathers technical reports from performers and compiles Weekly Accomplishment Report
- Compiles and condenses reports into a Monthly Report
- Communicates with DoD and other Government agency sites to identify and facilitate transition of AAIT technology
- Coordinates meetings with outside organizations
- Writes technical reports and creates briefing material to explain technical issues/make recommendations
- Presents briefing material to teams (performers/sponsors/transition partners) in person and virtually
- Advises AAIT to write contract language to specify high quality deliverables (software/ documentation/demonstrations)
- Collaborates with other teammates in most efforts
- Travels 15-20% of the time within the CONUS to Performer Sites and TRMC HQ (Mark Center)
- Travels twice annually to various locations for program reviews
Must-haves:
- BA/BS Degree: AA/AS Degrees may qualify with 8 years of experience
- 5 years of relevant work experience
- 5 years of technical project management experience in a relevant industry
- Experience with Automated and Artificial Intelligence testing
- The ability to evaluate technical proposals and papers related to software development
- The ability to install, deploy and evaluate prototype software on servers/clusters
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- The ability to develop presentations/reports and communicate effectively with local and extended teams
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to learn technical concepts quickly
- The ability to be detail-oriented in order to understand system dependencies, technical risks and the impact of key architectural decisions with the engineering team
- The ability to be self-motivated and manage multiple projects and/or activities
- Knowledge of Test & Evaluation (Modeling and Simulation/Live test/Live-Virtual-Constructive Test)
- The ability to work well in team environments
- The ability to accommodate a 90-day mandatory on-site probationary period
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience with System Engineering
- Knowledge of AI or autonomous systems testing
- Knowledge of software development

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:
The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. Overnight travel will be required.
