AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a Pulsed Power Engineer to assist with Operations and Maintenance of existing Radio Frequency transmitters, Pulsed Power, Atmospheric effects testing, and to assist with guiding, preparing, and executing related RDT&E activities. The Engineer will assist with current and future projects. Support will be provided to the Electromagnetic Effects Branch, Lightning Laboratory located at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD.

A typical day as the Engineer:

This position includes a wide range of challenging and interesting work that involves both high voltage and high frequency equipment used for system level RDT&E. This hands on position requires a willingness to occasionally travel and participate in test events.  The candidate will use measuring and diagnostic tools to test and modify electronic systems while interacting with peers and other engineering groups to define and author test procedures and plans, analyze and document test results, and recommend improvements.

Qualifications Desired:

• 0-5 years’ of relevant experience
• Combination of RF, Pulsed Power, High Power Microwave, or MIL-STD-464 experience
• Experience with Marx Generators, to include an understanding of its design parameters
• Strong understanding of RF theory, electrical circuits, math, and technical writing
• Ability to interact at all levels within the project/engineering team
• Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• US citizenship is required
• Current SECRET security clearance is required

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics is required; MS/PhD is a plus
