The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Procurement Associate-Journeyman to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The salary range of this position is $62,900.00 - $75,300.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:

The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department’s E3 facility is the center of excellence in aircraft E3 Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation. Our state-of-the-art laboratories specializes in a variety of capabilities, ranging from box level to complete system level testing. The E3 vision is to be dedicated to improving current and future DoD Test & Evaluation capabilities; in simulation of operational and threat environments, high-energy physics and directed energy weapons by empowering the workforce to approach solutions from outside of the box. With IBST at the helm, we're not just preparing for the future but shaping it.

 

A typical day as a Procurement Associate-Journeyman may include:

  • Manages/Coordinates a variety of procurement activities from purchase request through order completion
  • Communicates regularly with management, internal customers, and vendors regarding order status, pricing, delivery schedules, purchase requirements, and the status of purchasing packages
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders
  • Obtains and evaluates vendor quotes
  • Prepares higher-dollar, complex purchasing packages in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and applicable procurement regulations
  • Monitors/Tracks available funding and expenditures against assigned contracts and purchase requirements
  • Ensures purchases remain within authorized funding and contract limitations
  • Receives and accepts packages delivered to the company and properly documents receipt in Costpoint
  • Ensures that receiving information is accurate and completed in a timely manner
  • Tracks open purchase orders, follows up with vendors on past-due/outstanding orders, resolves discrepancies with vendors/internal personnel, and maintains procurement records
  • Answers phone calls and emails and assists management/other departments with procurement-related questions
  • Prioritizes multiple purchasing actions, maintains accurate and complete documentation, meets required deadlines, and independently follows established procurement procedures
  • Performs other procurement related duties and responsibilities as necessary
  • Supports the overall operation of the Procurement department

 

Must-haves:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within a government contracting, defense, aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or other highly regulated environment
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, including purchase orders and procurement transactions
  • Experience processing/tracking a high volume of purchase orders, including pricing, quantities, funding, invoices, order status, and vendor/stakeholder follow-up
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, sorting, and filtering)
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory coordination, and material control
  • Experience maintaining accurate procurement, inventory, material, and operational records and reports
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing procurement documentation and resolving discrepancies
  • The ability to prioritize multiple requirements, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with vendors, suppliers, management, and internal customers
  • The ability to follow procurement policies, procedures, contract requirements, and internal controls
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality when handling procurement, pricing, vendor, contract, and funding information
  • Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): DoD Secret Clearance
  • Current clearance required upon onboarding: DoD Secret Clearance
  • Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract. U.S. Citizenship is required for all clearances.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
  • Experience working with Accounting and Accounts Payable personnel to resolve purchase order, invoice, receiving, pricing, payment, credit, and vendor-related discrepancies and ensure transactions are properly documented and processed
  • Experience with hazardous-material (HAZMAT) control and documentation, including tracking hazardous materials and maintaining required records throughout the material lifecycle

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

 

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
