AMEWAS, Inc., a growing Defense Contracting Firm, is seeking highly motivated and talented Helpdesk Technician to support the AMEWAS Overhead.

A typical day as Helpdesk Technician:

  • Responding to phone calls and help desk tickets.
  • Checking server logs and performing network audits.
  • Performing routine network maintenance, driver/firmware updates, resource monitoring, security checks, etc.
  • Administering backups and restores of servers.
  • Diagnosing and resolving network, software and hardware issues.
  • Creating purchase orders for software and hardware
  • Creating documentation for various IS processes, instructions and policies
  • Recording asset inventory and associated information such as cost, end-user, warranty, etc. of direct and indirect purchases.
  • Performing inventory audits.
  • Installing and patching new network and phone connections.
  • Researching IS solutions as required.
  • Interface with external vendors and product support.
  • Adding and maintaining user accounts, security groups, distribution groups, etc. with AD.
  • Phone system maintenance.
  • Incident reporting, weekly status reports, etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of Relevant work experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD TOP SECRET security clearance

Education and Certifications:

  • Security+ and MCP desired
  • High School Diploma

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to work on-site at the government program office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, travel may be required.


This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Help Desk Technician and Level I.
