Description

AMEWAS, Inc., a growing Department of Defense (DoD)/Federal Contractor, is seeking five highly motivated and talented Interns to support AMEWAS and our DoD customer.  The ultimate goal of these internships is to provide students the opportunity to gain technical skills necessary to obtain a full-time job in the computer programming profession upon graduation. Interns will be hired initially to support during the summer months, but may have the opportunity to continue with AMEWAS during Winter or Spring breaks (if available).

A typical day as an Intern:

Interns will be responsible for enhancing their skills and gaining experience in STEM-related processes and capabilities of the organization. Duties will require:

  • In-depth research and analysis of STEM topics as they relate to laboratories and capabilities of the organization.
  • Hands-on tasks may include, programming, modeling, technical documentation, systems integration and testing, and recording observations of more experienced personnel. Participation in various meetings and forums as an observer may be required.
  • Assisting senior personnel in various STEM-related tasks may be in an office, laboratory, hangar, office, or military runway/ramp environment.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current High School or college student with a minimum of 3.0 GPA focused on the STEM curriculum with a track in computer programming
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office products

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
