The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and talented On-Call, Part-Time Access Control Specialist to support the Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation.

This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Administrative Assistant.

A typical day as an On-Call, Part-Time Access Control Specialist may include:

  • The selected candidate will support Visitor Control duties by greeting and documenting all visitors according to security procedures, including but not limited to customers, tour groups, base public works, inspectors, and maintainers. 
  • The Candidate shall monitor and control access to facility(s) and restricted areas under their responsibility by checking personnel passes, Common Access Cards (CAC) and validating security clearances and visit requests. 
  • The Candidate may provide administrative and planning support for meetings and events and maintain schedules for all conference rooms at the AARDT&E facilities, identify appropriate locations for meetings, reserve and set-up meeting locations; send out information to attendees, plan and coordinate logistical, administrative, and security arrangements for leads and attendees, arrange for and check out IT and Audio Visual (AV) systems and equipment, arrange for lunch service, snacks, and refreshments, as needed.
  • Creates proxy badges for new employees. Verifies visitor DoD security clearances through JPAS or BASICS II if applicable.
  • Inputs visitor requests through BASICS II. Collects visitor cell phones; two way pagers; radios; and requests visitor register their laptops. Sorts and distributes mail.
  • Ensures all new personnel read the Standard Operating Procedures; sign the applicable acknowledgment form; and enter the form into the Security Tracking System.

Must-haves:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.  In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.  In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
