The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)-Journeyman to support the AMEWAS Corporate Office. The salary range of this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)-Journeyman may include:

  • Manages the Personnel Security Department under the FSO
  • Coordinates personnel security clearance requirements with the 32 CFR 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule and various government entities
  • Oversees personnel security folders
  • Provides support to DCSA for personnel security interviews/reviews
  • Updates personnel security related training and ensures 100% compliance with 32 CFR 117 and other pertinent regulations
  • Ensures all SEAD 3 reporting requirements are reviewed, reported and tracked accordingly
  • Provides guidance to members of the security team supporting Personnel Security functions
  • Maintains and manages the DISS and NBIS accounts and profiles of users/subjects
  • Works with the FSO and SMO for any Security Incident and personnel security reporting
  • Interacts with government security support staff and Trusted Agents
  • Provides additional support for Visit Request, Foreign Travel (both personal and business) and SAARs
  • Assists the FSO and Empowered Official with any foreign disclosure requests, tracking and reports
  • Provides support to the CSSO with SCI personnel security paperwork
  • Maintains all security documentation and files accurately and in accordance with requirements
  • Provides support as required for Access Control Systems, Common Access Cards, SAARs and specific briefings/debriefings
  • Provides support to the Headquarters Front Desk for monitoring of access and phone coverage as needed
  • Provides support to the AMEWAS Contracts Office with Expense Reports, Travel Authorizations, claims and other efforts as needed by the Contracting Officer
  • Performs other assigned duties and responsibilities as required

 

Must-haves:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • CDSE FSO for a Non-Possessing Facility
  • ITPSO Training
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • 5 years of experience as DOD Contractor AFSO/FSO/CSSO
  • 5 years of experience as an Industrial Security FSO, AFSO or CSSO
  • 5 years of experience with DISS and NBIS or previous system
  • Detailed knowledge of SEAD 3 and its implementation
  • 5 years of experience with processing APACS
  • 2 years of experience with SPOT for processing LOAs for foreign travel
  • 5 years of experience with DCSA International Requests for Visits
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • 2 years of experience supporting Foreign Military Sales in a security support department
  • The ability to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance-Secret Clearance required to start

 

Desired Skills:

  • Training in ITAR or Foreign Disclosure
  • Experience with the JTR
  • Experience with Costpoint
  • Experience as a CSSO

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

 

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
