The position:

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and talented Electrical Engineering Technician to support the Aircraft Prototype System Division (APSD). This position is on a SCA contract which is subject to the terms and conditions of the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA).

This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Technician.

A typical day as an Electrical Engineering Technician may include:

• Individual will be required to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, plan installs, and lead teams of artisans and designers (both engineering techs and junior engineers).
• The individual, depending upon the project will be responsible for installation planning.
• Similarly the individual needs to be capable of working with drafters and engineers to develop airworthy electrical designs.
• The Lead will be responsible identifying, and socializing the issues with respect to the design, and assist with resolution as required (interfacing with the project lead, artisans, and APSD designers). 

Must-haves:

• Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• DoD Secret security clearance

Physical environment and working conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to stand and walk throughout his/her workday, often bending over and picking up items less than 50 lbs. and/or operating machinery to assist in the movement of heavy objects such as fork lifts and dollies. 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
